Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate books and records within one of our US-based entities and one of our foreign-based entities. For the US-based entity, Biofourmis Inc, he or she will be one of two managers responsible for daily, monthly, quarterly and year-end activities.  For the foreign-based entity, Biofourmis AG, he or she will be responsible for the full set of accounts.   The Accounting Manager will be a member of a small, but evolving, high-performing team and expected to help with the implementation of financial processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will have eight or more years of accounting experience, strong communication skills and superb attention to detail.  This role has the potential of becoming the lead team member for our Center of Excellence with direct reports being added to the team as we continue to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Own monthly close calendar, ensuring team meets financial reporting deadlines;
  • Work with supply chain in both US and Singapore to ensure preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting books and records and compliance with accepted policies and procedures of inventory and inventory-related transactions;
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and roll-forward schedules as well as intercompany reconciliations for inventory;
  • Oversee staff accountant to ensure monthly sales invoices for Biofourmis Inc, our US entity, are being posted appropriately, reconciled and distributed to customers;
  • Prepare the full set of accounts for Biofourmis AG, our foreign entity, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory;
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities, including proposing reclassifications as needed;
  • Serve as primary liaison with external auditors; and
  • Participate in ad hoc accounting and finance projects, as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field;
  • Expertise in U.S. GAAP;
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in public accounting, public company and/or multi-national company;
  • Experience with the use of ERP systems, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills;
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills;
  • Superb attention to detail;
  • Resilient team player who can juggle multiple priorities and competing deadlines;
  • Puts in extra effort when needed to meet agreed-upon deadlines;
  • Inspires others to take positive action and looks for opportunities to positively contribute to and improve the finance team;

Work base location: Bengaluru-Hybrid working model-Working from the office for a min of 3 days a week
