As a freelance UX Lead you will research, investigate, and architect the experience design for clients’ projects across all channels, leading the strategy and creation of products from a customer-centric perspective.

You will be expected to devise experience strategies and realize the vision through the conceptualization and design of engaging user experiences.You will be able to demonstrate a track record of advancing business goals and solving unmet user needs, leading and influencing in a cross-functional context, and using research and data driven decision making to inform the design of the experience. You will mentor junior designers, help them grow and guide their efforts to align with strategic vision.

Required Qualities/Skills
Mastery of the customer centric development process - Thorough knowledge and planning, documenting and leading projects (Web, Mobile, Intranet, omni-channel) with solid knowledge of UX best practices.

Craft – Working through channel design problems from beginning to end. Ability to conceptualize new products and features, design storyboards, workflows, interactions, wireframes, mockups, and design standards based on business goals and user research. Must be able to translate complex concepts and interactions into visually coherent wireframes or prototypes.

Influence – Strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to structure narratives in a way that helps define the product and project development process. Effective collaboration with executives, managers, product managers, engineers, and researchers to define, conceptualize, and design user-facing products. Able to interact excellently with clients.

Software and tools - Strong proficiency and expertise in design and prototyping tools like Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision and other.

Writing – You must be able to write clearly, concisely and quickly. You must be able to create succinct requirements documentation for interactive projects.

BA or higher expected but not required if work experience and samples are stellar. Typical degrees:
Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, Psychology or Communications.

At least 8 years’ experience as a lead/principal designer or related experience design position. A stellar
portfolio demonstrating design thinking and strategic skills.
