Beyond is looking for a Business Director to take full responsibility for a client portfolio, deepening and directing the whole client relationship and facilitating the link between all stakeholders and maximising opportunities. By partnering with the client, the successful applicant would ensure client excellence and governance across the collaborative sets, and take full accountability for the overall direction of the client interaction/programme.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be working on the following outputs, with support from the Client team and the Director of Growth who will oversee this role:

Strategic Client Leadership

  • Get to know your client’s business, inside out, so that you can faithfully represent them and shape our work to provide thinking which drives real business value and change
  • Actively listen to your most senior clients (C-Suite) ensuring we’re always driving in the right direction, delivering great work and identifying new opportunities to grow our relationship
  • Inspire, collaborate and coach teams to do their best work; be open-minded to the opinions of others, help your teammates out, get your hands dirty when it’s needed
  • Build rapport and strong relationships with your senior clients to become a trusted extension of their team
  • Be confident and lead our teams in growth efforts to expand your client
  • Be passionate and inspire thinking about all things product, technology, and design and have a rich knowledge base to inspire your team and to draw upon in your work and relationships
  • Direct Beyond and Client product teams, and support changes required, and provide ideas and business lead strategies that ensure long-term results
  • Leads the connection of multiple programme streams to work towards a cohesive output of work and successful outcomes

Product / Business Strategy

  • Works closely with your client, to lead, articulate and set clear product and business strategies, objectives, and roadmaps
  • Work closely with Beyond Delivery and Product Directors, to set internal teams Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) aligned with clients desired outcomes
  • Develop product strategies off the back of business objectives, complex data structures, research and insights  
  • Direct strategy and product teams at the start of projects, giving them the historical information and strategies relevant to the client
  • Develop a deep understanding of the client landscape, including business strategy, data, budgeting and investment, product and delivery

Organisation Transformation / Business Design

  • Apply change and implementation management methodologies to your client to drive the great success of business metric goals
  • Communication and application of organisational design practices
  • Work alongside a Programme and Product Director to determine the best methods, talent, and organisational structures, that support achieving our client's growth and improvement metrics

Strategic Client Growth

  • Play an active role in business development, preparing proposals and participating in sales presentations for your client
  • Identify ways in which Beyond can support the client in the achievement of its business goals
  • Leverage new opportunities and change through selling ideas or solutions to clients
  • Understands the latest business and consumer insights
  • Entrepreneurial thinker, proactively generates and presents new ideas
  • Use of data to validate logic

Client Management

  • Own operational reporting across your portfolio, including income forecasting, financial reporting, invoicing and financial risk
  • Create annual/quarterly account plans and strategies for developing and growing your portfolio of accounts
  • Own the detail and be accountable for it, both your own and your teams; through the development of proposals, scopes of work and contracts
  • Work well under pressure, with a high degree of flexibility and fluidity and have an objective-focused and positive approach
  • Inspire, collaborate and coach teams to do their best work; be open-minded to the opinions of others, help your teammates out, get stuck in when it’s needed, and feedback at the moment to acknowledge someone’s good work
  • Give constructive feedback to all stakeholders

Required Knowledge

  • Knowledge across customer development, UX/UI design & Product Management
  • Conversion optimisation
  • Understanding of consumer insight and  metrics and how to apply them
  • Appreciate and drive human-centered product design
  • Experience overseeing, running and delivering digital products
  • Be an evangelist for technology and its influence on product

Technical Abilities

  • Superior presentation skills
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes (desirable)
  • Organisational design
  • Proficiency with MS office, keynote, google apps suite

Required Experience:

  • 6+ years experience of working within a digital, product or consultancy space
  • Experience overseeing product builds/accounts or previously worked as a product manager
  • A proven track record of working with creative people on bespoke initiatives
  • Experience in and a deep understanding of digital product development systems and processes
  • A proven track record managing and growing digital accounts with accountability for a sole quota of over £2million
  • A proven track record of growing multi-million pound accounts over 12-18 months
  • Experience on engagements and accounts over 12 months
