Our high growth company is looking to hire an experienced Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) who will be a vital piece in the day to day success of the company. The Director of FP&A will be instrumental in guiding the company toward reaching our short-term and long-term financial objectives as well as manage the company’s  Sales Operations function. This position will be focused but not necessarily limited to driving deeper value-added analytics on revenue and owning and maintaining cash flow modeling and forecasting as well as work with the Sales, Professional Services and Marketing teams to assist them in meeting/exceeding their objectives. The ideal candidate will drive continuous process improvements and best practices to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the planning and reporting processes. The Director of FP&A will identify risks and opportunities and bring these to the attention of senior leadership teams in a timely manner and make recommendations for appropriate actions.


The Director of FP&A will be responsible for assessing and improving on current revenue and sales operations reporting analytics and ensure leadership has deep, fact-based assessments of revenue, expense and cash flow performance (historical and future projections).


The Director of FP&A will play a key role in the annual strategic planning process, the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, monthly updates and the preparation and support of any ROI analysis for business plans. The role also entails preparing financial reports, collecting, formatting, analyzing, and explaining information that can be used to make recommendations for financial actions.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Can create and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and expansion of betterworks
  • Can identify risks and opportunities and bring these to the attention of senior leadership team in a timely manner and make recommendations for appropriate actions
  • Will work with the Controller in preparation for monthly close and analysis of results versus forecast/budget
  • Will work with different departments around the organization to gain insight and knowledge that could affect forecasts
  • Can create strategic value-added analyses around growth opportunities, bookings growth, expense optimization, and core business metrics to drive better decisions and results
  • Will work with Sales and Lead Generation departments to understand and help manage revenue pacing and ad-hoc revenue pipeline reporting
  • Can ensure accuracy of monthly and quarterly financial reporting through diligent reviews of preliminary and final accounting results
  • Can identify business risks and opportunities and evaluate financial impact/potential upside through scenario modeling
  • Will prepare and coordinate management presentations including monthly operating reviews, annual budgets, and long-range planning
  • Support CEO and CFO on the preparation of materials for Board of Directors, investors, and other key stakeholders

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years of experience in positions with demonstrated responsibilities in financial forecasting, analysis, or similar quantitative fields
  • Background in investment banking, private equity, or deal advisory, strongly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with a solid understanding of business strategies and drivers
  • Possess sound judgment and knows when to escalate issues
  • Self-starter who can manage through ambiguity, learn on the fly, handle multiple priorities and perform job responsibilities accurately while working in a high energy, deadline-driven, and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Experience and ability to develop and maintain complex financial models to generate key insights
  • Must be able to organize and analyze large volumes of data, perform data reconciliations and summarize for executive review
  • Maintain a positive, flexible, client-service attitude with business teams
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Extensive experience using SFDC for reporting and analytics
  • Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills
