Role Overview
The pre-build team, in collaboration with other departments, completes and improves tasks and processes required to begin building homes in all our communities — from the tasks during the development of land planning, design construction and platting to the tasks immediately prior to starting home construction.
Core Functions
- Accomplish assigned permitting tasks: drawing site plans, submitting permit packages, creating community files, assembling job drawings, and any other tasks needed prior to start of home construction.
- Accomplish assigned homesite tasks: creating community files, importing map documents, building sales plats, conducting lot and classification fits, and any other tasks needed prior to start of home construction.
- Check and verify completeness and accuracy of assigned permit packages to cities as well assigned tasks related to land development, sales releases, and help desk issues.
- Monitor the permit dynamic schedule progress and help desk views for incoming requests and tasks assigned.
- Provide suggestions for process and systems improvement.
- Assist other team members during times of high workload.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to be thorough, consistent, adaptable, servant-hearted and coachable
- Exhibits a propensity to grow to be personable, innovative and persistent
- Advanced computer operation and learning ability
- A passion for, or experience in, home building
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Office Role
- Works in temperature-controlled environment.
- Vision for near, mid-range and far as well as hearing for low, medium, and high pitch.
- Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
- Frequent walking on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, rock, etc.).
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license and must be able to be insured by company fleet insurance.
- Ability to lift 5 - 20 pounds.
Hours and Schedule
- Average 40 hours per week (8am-5pm, M-F).
- No evenings or Sundays.
- Minimal travel required for company events and inter-region collaboration.
- Lunch break may be required.
- Lunch meetings are occasionally required.
- After hours and weekends may be necessary on occasion for trips, events, or to meet deadlines.
