JOB SUMMARY

Utilize effective written and verbal communication to create mechanisms for current and prospective users of our software to learn how to best utilize it to increase productivity and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Interview SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), Technical Lead/Architect, Product Owner, and Business Stakeholders, to learn about the business as well as how the software works for them in order to establish a set of technical documentation needed for a successful implementation; including but not limited to, communication, on-boarding, training and maintenance.
  • Identify common user scenarios; apply critical thinking about types of information and delivery methods end users need to be successful; plan and design supporting user guides
  • Gather/research/analyze required inputs and artifacts from SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), Technical Lead/Architect, Product Owner, Business Stakeholders, software developers, QA Analysts, Project Consultants and use them to design, develop and publish technical documentation
  • Coordinate technical and quality assurance reviews to ensure the quality of the deliverables
  • Manage distribution and review of documents for on-boarding, training, and ongoing maintenance
  • Enhance, maintain, and manage distribution of documents on an ongoing basis as software features are enhanced
  • Work closely with development and product teams
  • Commit to expanding technological skills and knowledge of the Betenbough systems and processes
  • Report and communicate findings within the development team on a daily basis
  • Write, review, and edit technical documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, completeness, and to mitigate risks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience in Customer Service supporting internal or external customers 
  • Related Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Information Systems or the equivalent or relevant work experience 
  • Strong technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills 
  • Ability to organize and create smart structured digital content with embedded linked topics 
  • Strong written communication, oral communication, interpersonal skills with attention to details
  • Strong creative ability to write technical details while being an engaging storyteller
  • Strong analytical/problem solving and organization skills
  • Thorough understanding of technical aspects of software applications data exchange, integrations, XMLs, web services, authentication, user experience, and more 
  • Highly self-motivated, independent, and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies 
  • Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet aggressive timelines 
  • Must be able to present a portfolio of writing samples and/or previous work experience
  • Experience doing technical analysis/documentation work

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Works in temperature-controlled environment
  • Vision for near, mid-range, and far as well as hearing for low, medium, and high pitch
  • Superior communication skills with co-workers, customers, trade partners and vendors
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license and must be able to be insured by company fleet insurance
  • Must be able to perform all job expectations safely with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to lift 15-30 pounds

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 40-45 hours per week (8am-5pm, M-F)
  • After hours and weekends may be necessary on occasion for trips, emergencies, events, or to meet deadlines
  • Lunch meetings and events outside of normal working hours are required
