JOB SUMMARY

The Banquet Houseman team member is responsible for set up and break down of event space according to the Banquet Event Order, ensuring guest needs are attended to, equipment is set up and functioning properly, and public spaces are clean prior to events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide professional and courteous guest service at all times
  • According to banquet orders, move equipment, tables, and chairs as needed to set up and service events
  • Set up, clean, and refresh all function rooms throughout the day
  • Complete all function setups prior to the start of the scheduled event
  • Return all equipment to the proper storage areas and keep the areas clean and neat
  • Provide security for events as needed
  • Assist in the presetting of china, glassware, silverware, and service equipment necessary for banquet service activities
  • Assist in the clearing of soiled china, glassware, silverware, and service equipment between courses or after function ends

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Restaurant or banquet experience preferred
  • Ability to work nights, weekends
  • Able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to push and pull equipment weighing 50-100lbs on a regular and continuous basis
  • Customer service minded

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Works indoors and outdoors as event set up demands
  • Vision for near, mid-range and far as well as hearing for low, medium, and high pitch
  • Superior communication skills with co-workers, guests, trade partners and vendors
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist
  • Must be able to perform all job expectations safely with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to lift 15-50 pounds
  • This position requires full mobility, continuous movement and heavy lifting, up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently (moving furniture, equipment, staging, etc.)

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 20-29 hours per week
  • Nights and weekends are required
