Position Description

As the Jr. Systems Administrator, you will be tasked with assisting our Foster City, California staff with day-to-day IT operations and end-user support remotely from our Denver office. An ideal candidate should be able to troubleshoot typical end-user requests for Windows laptops and desktops, including Office365 troubleshooting. The candidate should have the ability to work in a compliance-oriented environment, be organized with the ability to focus and prioritize, self-start new projects defined by IT management staff, and respond to emergency incidents after hours. This position requires travel to Foster City, California every other week for one or two days. The ideal candidate has the drive to self-educate and learn new technologies as advancements occur in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform help desk tasks and assist employees with any IT-related issues including phone and video conferencing.
  • Perform maintenance on all user accounts including Active Directory, Office365, and compliance reporting systems.
  • Track, provision, prepare, rebuild, and destroy employee computing equipment.
  • Ensure data protection procedures are followed, including testing restores periodically to validate procedures.
  • Scanning of internal networks and responding to alerting from internal security monitoring systems.

The following skills are required:

  • Setup, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows client laptops running on Lenovo hardware.
  • Familiarity with business technology peripherals such as copiers, printers, scanners, projectors, iPhones, etc.
  • Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP networking: DNS, DHCP, subnets, IP addressing.
  • Understanding of network hardware components: Routers, switches, WAPs, etc.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office365 services: Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Skype for Business.

Additional skills desired:

  • Understanding of VMware and Hyper-V virtual environments is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Apple macOS is highly preferred but is not required.
  • Windows Server experience is a HUGE plus.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ experience with a BS of IS or equivalent

This is a full-time salaried position, with a solid potential for career growth into Windows and Linux server administration. This is a full-time employee position with benefits.
