Bernie 2020 Internship Program
Bernie 2020 is offering paid internships to students who are enrolled full-time in Iowa-based Universities. The internship combines the activities of both the traditional Field and Political Departments of an electoral campaign. Students will act as representatives of the campaign and conduct campaign activities on campus. Activities include: conducting direct voter outreach, preparing and delivering presentations to campus groups and organizations, and helping to organize campus-wide events in conjunction with other Bernie 2020 staff.
Interns will learn how to:
- Conduct meaningful and persuasive political conversations with voters
- Deliver captivating speeches around the vision and policies of the Bernie 2020 campaign
- Analyze and communicate the effectiveness of political policies
- Persuade individuals to get engaged in the political process
- Effectively communicate and educate voters about the Iowa Caucus
- Create short, innovative presentations for student groups on campus
- Activate individuals to take action on the political issues they care most about
- Build professional relationships with student groups and organizations
- Run effective voter-outreach activities and programs
- Help with event management as needed
- Participate in bi-weekly trainings to learn key principles of persuasion and campaigning
Requirements:
- 10 - 15 hours of work each week with a minimum of two shifts per week
- Must be a student at an Iowa school
- Report to campaign staff on a weekly basis
- Students majoring in policy, politics, government or other relevant coursework, in addition to those majoring in all other courses of study.

- Follow the direction of campaign staff and your sponsor
- Arrive on time for campaign-related activities

Details:
- Work with a professor in your University to gain sponsorship in order to gain credit
- The campaign will be responsible for overseeing your weekly work plan
- Must apply with a cover letter and resume
- Pay is $15/hour
