Research & Consultancy Public Sector Lead

We’ve been producing research on the UK’s business population and the ecosystem that supports them for years, mainly for private sector clients. Now we’re expanding our offering to public sector clients, too. We’re looking for someone to take a leading role in exploring this new market.

🥖 The Role

Our Research & Consultancy team uses our data to deliver bespoke projects for our clients, helping them to understand the UK’s private company landscape and the ecosystem that surrounds it.

Historically, our projects have been mostly geared towards private sector clients, helping them with their thought leadership, bespoke research, and data consultancy needs – you can find some examples of our work here.

Now, we want to offer similar services to the public sector. We’re looking for someone to run this side of the team; pitching, selling, managing, and delivering similar projects to national and local government, universities, and growth hubs.

Day-to day, your responsibilities will include:

🎯 Devising, targeting, and selling bespoke projects to public sector clients.

📝 Crafting persuasive tenders in response to bids, showcasing our expertise and value proposition effectively.

🔎 Conducting in-depth reports on business populations.

📊 Managing and part-delivering bespoke projects with the help of the existing team, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion.

🤝 Building and maintaining relationships with leaders in the industry, keeping up to date and responding to their challenges and priorities.

If successful in this role, you’ll have the chance to build out and run your own dedicated team, leading our public sector research & consultancy efforts and becoming the ‘public sector face’ of the company!

Our online platforms help our clients to discover, track and understand these companies, and our Research & Consultancy team provides bespoke research, analysis, and reports based on this data and more.

We work with venture capital firms, big financial institutions, major banks, leading universities, and the Government to help them find and work with companies that drive disruption and innovation across the economy.

 🫵 About you 

We’re looking for an individual with at least three years of relevant experience in consultancy and/or associated research. Ideally, you’ll have some experience working with public sector clients, demonstrating an understanding of their unique needs and challenges.

You’ll also have previous client-facing experience or skills including pitching, and have experience analysing and visualising large and complex datasets.

Ideally, you’ll be:

• A natural people person: You find it easy to get on with all sorts of people and like the idea of working with lots of different clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
• Ambitious: You go above and beyond what is asked of you and are excited to develop your own projects & hit targets.
• Analytical: You like working with data and can take meaning from the numbers.
• A self-starter: capable of thriving in an autonomous role and driving initiatives forward independently.
