About the role

Our new Beat Tesla service is live in Mexico City and we have aggressive plans to roll this unique, superior service across Latin America.  Our internal working name for this adventure is Loonshot (from the book “Loonshots: How to Nurture the Crazy Ideas That Win Wars, Cure Diseases, and Transform Industries” by Safi Bahcall, a highly recommended read).  

We are looking for a seasoned product manager to join our fast-paced and transformational team to manage the expansion of this effort. 

As a Product Manager, New Verticals, you will be responsible for owning and executing the Loonshot product strategy working closely with the engineering team, product peers, business owners, data scientists and other stakeholders. You will work along with the designer, researchers to understand users’ needs and pain points, then build products to solve those, learning along the way. Your day-to-day work will shape and establish our presence as the largest electrical fleet in Latam, contributing not only to safety but also sustainability in the region. 

What you'll do day in day out:

  • Influence Loonshot’s product strategy and vision, conduct necessary research, build your product’s roadmap and oversee its execution
  • Define, measure, and monitor objectives and key results for the products within your scope 
  • Drive innovation, research and experimentation across teams
  • Lead by example on your understanding of the user, data and be hands-on when necessary
  • Work closely with the engineering team to deliver usable products, owning the prioritisation, validation and execution. 
  • Research and define, scope new opportunities, interfacing with data analysts, user researchers, and designers  
  • Communicate and report overall status, key issues, solutions and plans for your product portfolio. 
  • Partner with Business Operations, and market General Managers to understand and translate the risk appetite of individual regions
  • Be an advocate for your scope within your domain by keeping up to date with technology and competition, and within the product chapter with product excellence and best practices

What you need to have:

  • 3+ years of product management experience across consumer web/mobile, in marketplace or a related product
  • Proven track record of building user focussed product through iterative delivery, and short release cycles
  • Focus and scientific excellence on data, experimentation and analytics to solve problems, and a track record of driving results through continuous improvement
  • Tenacity to keep issues top of mind of relevant stakeholders and conviction to stand-by decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially to communicate effectively with senior executives.

What is nice to have:

  • Knowledge of the ride-sharing industry
  • Experience working with electric vehicles and hardware products is a plus
  • Experience with building greenfield products
  • Experience shipping solutions based on machine learning
