Job Summary:
We're seeking a passionate and hands-on Engineering Manager to join our growing team. You will lead a talented team of developers in the design, development, and deployment of our core infrastructure and AI models, defining and implementing best practices for development, testing, and deployment.
Key focuses:
- Define technical vision and roadmap for the Big Data & Infrastructure team, aligned with the business goals.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) concepts including supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms.
- Own the complete software development lifecycle for assigned projects, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, providing mentorship and guidance to team members.
Minimum Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in software development, preferably within a startup environment
- 3+ years of proven experience leading and motivating a team of developers
- Strong understanding of system design principles and best practices
- Extensive experience with: Python; Spark; Data Pipelines; PostgreSQL; Kubernetes (k8s)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Passion for building high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software
- A strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Big Data tooling (Airflow, Athena, Glue; Data Lake; Delta Lake)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS - advantage)
- Experience managing Data Scientists to operationalize ML models in production
- Experience with Microservices and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI)
