ABOUT THE ROLE

Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Chief of Staff to the CEO to join us in our mission to make brain monitoring easily accessible, interpretable, and actionable. You will serve in a critical role at the exciting phase of an early-stage start-up, guiding the highest level strategy and building out operational infrastructure to sustain Beacon's growth. As Chief of Staff, you'll work closely with the CEO and CTO on mission critical internal- and external-facing initiatives. As a a member of an incredible team of neurologists, research scientists, data scientists and engineers, you will fundamentally shape the Beacon's trajectory and the advancements in brain health.  At Beacon, we know diversity is key to developing successful teams and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply!

Responsibilities include:

  •  Devise and run multiple strategic initiatives independently (e.g. Communications / PR strategy + press releases, hiring, data acquisition, academic partnership engagement, CRO integration)
  • Serve in multidisciplinary bridge role in key business domains (e.g. financial statement preparation and reporting // CFO; hiring & onboarding, employee growth, plan off-sites and meetings/events // HR; Operations // COO; maintain system of legal requirements for our contracts & agreements // Compliance; Alliance management and deal sourcing / BD; help build product roadmaps // Product.
  • Work with senior leadership to plan and prioritize business strategies
  • Help run Beacon's OKR / KPI process by meeting with teams and leadership to promote goal-setting and attainment
  • prepare for board meetings / decks / agendas / coordinate travel
  • Help with creation of both internally and externally-facing meeting decks
  • Documenting and organizing requirements, success criteria, milestones and deliverables for projects
  • Manage Executive Assistant to the CEO and CTO
  • Plan and direct administrative activities for the CEO and CTO
  • Draft communications to key partners, investors, and consultants
  • Work with Beacon's legal team to facilitate business operations (e.g. NDA placement, negotiating contracts, etc)

ABOUT YOU

  • 5+ Years of industry experience in senior operations or Chief of Staff role, helping guide strategy/product/processes that have enabled business success
  • You have a talent for identifying and solving operational problems, often before others were even aware or were impacted
  • You ask questions that help the team uncover dependencies, identify priorities, and anticipate where new quality checks will be needed
  • You capture key takeaways from conversations in well-structured notes made visible to the entire team
  • You track multiple threads in conversation and ensure all important topics are fully addressed
  • You facilitate productive meetings and ensure input from all team members is heard
  • You've been known to work and re-work a written communication until you are satisfied it is clear and concise
  • You're known for catching little errors and inconsistencies that affect the quality of a deliverable
  • You've successfully managed complex projects that require the involvement of cross-functional teams and/or
    you've unsuccessfully done so and know what went wrong and what you'd do differently
  • You have strong opinions about how to expand operational capabilities and grow teams successfully

Bonus Qualifications

  • experience with Gusto, quickbooks, Office365 / Sharepoint
  • previous experience in healthcare start-ups
