About you
🚀 The mission of the Senior Engineering Manager is to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the Referrals and Microloan engineering teams. This includes guiding engineers towards connecting engineering and product, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment between Product and Engineering goals.
What you will be accomplishing as a Senior Engineering Manager:
- Collaboration between product and engineering teams to achieve shared goals.
- Professional development and performance tracking of engineers.
- Successful execution of engineering projects within the Referrals and Microloan teams.
- Plan and execute long-term strategies that benefit your team and the product stage.
Day to day
- Collaborate with he team Product Manager to work towards teams OKRs and long term vision.
- Provide daily guidance and support to engineers.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between product and engineering teams.
- Conduct performance reviews and development planning for engineers.
- Oversee the execution of engineering projects, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Recruit and hire new engineers to expand and strengthen the team.
- Conduct interviews for candidates, and train engineering.
- Conduct regular one-on-ones with team members and skip-level meetings with indirect reports.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in software engineering or related field, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in managing engineering teams.
- Strong technical background in software development.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Experience in coordinating between product and engineering teams.
- Ability to measure and track performance metrics.
- Understanding of system architecture.
- Ability to detect and address technical debt.
- Knowledge of microservices implementation.
- Excellent brokering skills and ability to achieve consensus among stakeholders.
- Ability to be successful managing at a remote-only company.

- Advanced degrees or certifications in engineering or related fields.
