The Problem We’re Solving
Our mission is to eliminate supply chain waste by creating a digital platform to manage freight and eliminate supply chain waste.
There are 500 million hours wasted in trucking each year, over 3 billion gallons of fuel wasted per year from trucks idling, and 1 in 5 trucks on the road driving empty at any given point. This has a massive impact on the environment, the lives of millions of drivers, and ultimately, the cost of goods that we all pay. Job Description
We are looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer who excels in dynamic settings and is driven by a desire to develop applications that connect with users. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing and implementing both the front-end and back-end components of our applications, utilizing a diverse technology stack that includes Typescript, React, Python, GraphQL, etc. Candidates should be proactive, adept problem solvers with solid programming expertise in modern front-end and full-stack languages, and a deep enthusiasm for technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance the architecture of web applications to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance. Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to define system structure and core components.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code preferably using Javascript, Typescript, Python or similar while maintaining strong test practices.
- Implement new features and optimize existing ones to enhance user experience and functionality. Debug and resolve issues across various browsers and devices to maintain a robust application.
- Work closely with project managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers. Communicate effectively to understand requirements, explain technical constraints, and provide updates on development progress.
- Stay updated with the latest web technologies and best practices. Participate in code reviews, contribute to team knowledge sharing, and continuously seek to improve personal skills and the quality of the application.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of full-time software development experience
- Full-stack web application or product development experience with modern programming languages
- Proficient with Typescript, React/React Native and Python
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern web architectures
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or similar field

Compensation Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $136,000 - 181,000*. Compensation will vary based on factors including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Baton full-time employees are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
