Barsala is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team. You are a seasoned financial professional who will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures to prepare our company for rapid growth. You should be comfortable wearing multiple hats and eager to be a part of a quickly moving and growing startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting,
Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition - Complete month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Establish quality control processes over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, federal, and international government reporting
requirements and tax filings - Develop business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
Qualification
- Proven working experience as an accountant
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Thorough knowledge of US accounting principles and procedures
- Familiarity with international accounting laws and reporting responsibilities (IFRS)
- Experience with designing and conducting month-end/year end close processes
- Expert at creating financial statements
- Experience with annual audits a plus
- Excellent accounting software skills, including QuickBooks, Stampli, Expensify, and
others - Advanced degree in Accounting or similar degree preferred
- CPA preferred
- Startup experience a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail—accuracy is critical in this role
- Excellent communication skills, with strong sense of diplomacy and tact
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive & confidential information with discretion and
maturity - Ability to calmly manage multiple competing priorities and receive direction/feedback
from multiple team members
