As VP of Franchise and JV Relationships, you will be responsible for three primary functions: (1) Leading the overall franchise sales process for Barry’s from start to finish including the sourcing of new franchise partners, the negotiation of new development/franchise agreements, the management of the application review and partner vetting process, and the closing of new partnerships, (2) Managing existing franchise relationships including communication, contract adherence, brand standards, management of development schedules, and global travel to further enhance partnerships, and (3) Managing existing Joint Ventures including acting as the representative on behalf of the Company at joint venture meetings and proactively managing the performance of the Joint Venture to drive optimum performance and value.

Essential Function Statement(s)

  • Lead the franchise sales process (including sourcing new partners, application review, candidate vetting, LOI and franchisee/license negotiations, and deal execution)
  • Serve as a global brand and company advocate to potential and existing franchise partners
  • Presentation of financial analyses and business opportunities to the Leadership Team
  • Review and monitor franchise disclosure agreements, fee adjustments and/or modifications to license agreements and make recommendations to the Leadership Team.
  • Ensure compliance with all franchise agreements including performance and brand standards
  • Work to ensure uniformity throughout contracts and agreements with franchises
  • Serve as a liaison between franchisees and company headquarters to proactively address any franchise challenges or issues
  • Serve as the representative of the company at Join Venture meetings
  • Proactively manage Joint Ventures and execute operational oversight to drive performance and optimize value

Requirements

  • 10 - 15 years of experience in franchise deal generation and management of franchise relationships
  • Self-motivated and autonomous work ethic
  • Proven ability to lead franchise sales process, including the sourcing of new partners
  • Extensive network
  • Positive outlook and fun disposition
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
