Since then, we've shipped more than 70 million toys and treats to dogs across the world and use all of that direct customer feedback to inform new initiatives and ways to make magic between dogs and their people. We’ve since expanded into other offerings as well, as we aim to become THE Dog Company for every family with a four-legged, belly-scratch-loving, interspecies family member.

THE TEAM 

The Creative Marketing Team uses emotion, energy, humor, and creative best practices to tell the BARK story in communications and persuade folks to get BARK products. For both existing subscribers and potential prospects, every ad and email we make aims to not only convert dog parents but also entertain them -- and maybe make them fall in love, just a little (Ok, not a little a lot - go big or go home). We aim to illustrate the BARK experience, showing that when it comes to making dogs happy, we’re the most qualified! That means we're a group of kind, collaborative, and creative weirdos. WHO WE’RE SNIFFING FOR 

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Art Director who is passionate about dogs (obviously!) and ready to lead the charge in all things creative. You’ll oversee a wide range of creative projects across multiple business channels, ensuring top-notch visuals and a seamless brand experience across everything from digital marketing to retail campaigns. You must be equally comfortable creating and developing content using generative AI, directing photo and video shoots, collaborating with designers, and working closely with freelance talent and offshore resources. Oh, and did we mention? You must love dogs.

KEY DUTIES

  • Innovate with AI tools to optimize creative production and experiment with new visual concepts.
  • Lead and manage all creative projects across, retail, marketplaces, BARK.CO, BARK Air, and more.
  • Direct product photography and video shoots, making sure each project shines with BARK's signature playful and fun vibe.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external resources to ensure that all projects meet quality, timeline, and brand consistency requirements.
  • Oversee project workflows on Monday.com, ensuring all deliverables are on time and meet creative standards.

EXPERIENCE 

  • 5+ years of experience as an Art Director or in a similar creative leadership role.
  • Demonstrative experience using generative AI tools like MidJourney, Runway, and analogous software
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale creative campaigns across digital, retail, and product photography.
  • Strong experience directing product photography, video shoots, and working with designers, freelancers, and offshore teams.
  • A solid understanding of digital marketing platforms, creative trends, and best practices for visual storytelling.
  • Experience with project management tools like Monday.com and design software like Adobe Creative Suite.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must love dogs!
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple creative projects simultaneously.
  • Strong experience with generative AI for creative production is required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other design tools.
  • Knowledge of photography and video production techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners, while ensuring brand consistency.
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to uphold high creative standards.
  • Experience managing creative workflows via Monday.com or similar tools.

FOR CO/NJ/NY BASED APPLICANTS: 

  • The base salary range for this position is $110,000- $135,000
  • This position is eligible for equity 

**This compensation range is based on BARKs good faith estimate as of the date of this posting and may be modified in the future. Actual pay for this position will depend on a variety of variables including location, travel, internal equity, experience, education, skills and expertise.
