What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with the Series Director and oversee and supervise all aspects of creative process as it pertains to your episode, providing ideas, making decisions and offering viable solutions to creative and technical issues
  • Exercise superior leadership, collaborative and communication with animation team ensuring creative vision is understood and followed
  • Review and approve all creative materials (i.e. posing, secondary and retake animated scenes in sequences)
  • Be proactive in communicating issues, anticipating and analyzing potential roadblocks and delays and making recommendations on optimization
  • Cultivate and maintain a creative and successful working relationship with executive producers and stakeholders. Be confident in your creative vision but flexible and open-minded to alternate ideas.
  • Work with the production team to ensure that deadlines are met per the Weekly Schedule and Overall Production Schedule
  • Act as the project champion, you will continuously motivate and mentor your team, expand limits and encourage new ideas while providing support, guidance and instruction
  • Participate as needed in recruiting process as required for your project: review reels and sit in on interviews

What you bring with you:

  • 4+ years of experience as a lead animator or director in the industry;
  • Proficiency in Maya animation software;
  • Experience with Shotgun a plus;
  • Deep understanding of animation production & technical workflow, departmental dependencies from assets to animation to comp/fx;
  • Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven ability to tackle complex problems. Can adapt and troubleshoot;
  • Enthusiastic, positive, team-oriented.
