What We Are Looking For:
This position plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions in the data engineer/infrastructure domains. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage the development process, create and maintain the product backlog, deliver high-quality data solutions and perform other traditional product owner functions. Additionally, the Technical Product Owner champions data initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry standards to drive effective decision-making in order to maximizing team value.
What You'll Do:
- Define and communicate the platform/product vision and roadmap. Collaborate with stakeholders to align platform/product goals with organizational objectives.
- Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog. Ensure that the development teams have clear, actionable user stories and requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, software engineers, architects, business analysts and other stakeholders, to gather requirements and feedback, ensuring alignment and clarity on project goals.
- Understand and articulate technical concepts in data engineering and infrastructure. Guide the team in developing scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions and platforms.
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure product success. Analyze data to derive insights and inform product decisions.
- Identify potential risks early and work on mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery and quality.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and reviews. Guide the team in following Agile best practices for continuous improvement.
- Regularly meets with internal customers to share and align roadmaps, discuss priorities and assess their experiences with products and platforms
- Work closely with solution architects to align data engineering efforts with overall Enterprise Data architecture.
- Strategize data integration, quality, and observability across platforms.
What You Need:
- Bachelor's degree (within an engineering or computer science discipline strongly preferred) or equivalent work experience
Experience:
- 5+ years experience working in software architecture in the data engineering domain.
- 2+ years experience working as a product owner in the data engineering domain.
- Demonstrated track record of operating in highly collaborative, flexible, and productive cross-organization teams.
- Proven ability to perform in high-visibility, high growth environments.
- Action and results oriented, able to communicate strategies and tactics, identify obstacles.
- Experience in providing effective leadership to developers/engineers through the creation of Agile backlog assets and ongoing day-to-day guidance, resulting in development outcomes steeped in productivity and fun.

- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar agile certification.
- Snowflake Certified Advanced Administrator or equivalent certification.
- Data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
