Our Ways of Working

We have team members located across the United States and Canada spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees. 

We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These offsites are expected of employees and are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.  For this specific role, you will also be required to our warehouse facility in Columbus, Ohio two times a year.

What the Role Is

The finance team at Babylist is growing! In this new role, you will drive financial performance, process improvement and overall efficiency across our Supply Chain team. This includes supporting warehouse operations, labor planning, and inventory management. You will play a critical role in building robust financial models, evaluating ROI on capital expenditures, and implementing processes to improve operational transparency and forecasting accuracy. Who You Are

  • At least 7 years of experience, ideally with experience in an FP&A role in a high growth consumer technology or e-commerce or logistics start up company
  • Experience analyzing metrics and trends for a high volume business
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy and precision in financial analysis, reporting, and modeling.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to navigate cross-functional collaborations effectively and be front and center with company executives
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills (including data visualization), with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders. 
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling techniques and abilities, forecasting, and data analysis tools with a deep understanding of best practices
  • Strong sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity and an ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Passion to continuously provide exceptional customer service to all internal business partners.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging financial systems to empower an organization to efficiently plan and monitor financial performance.
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, Finance or a related field. MBA is preferred

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Partner closely with Supply Chain to analyze and improve financial performance related to warehouse operations including labor planning, logistics, and inventory management
  • Own the planning process for variable labor within the fulfillment center, ensuring Babylist can exceed customer expectations, staff to capacity requirements, at the lowest possible cost.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to optimize financial results
  • Solve complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, business insights, and recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders
  • Prepare financial reporting including, dynamic dashboards, business analyses, financial statements, KPI reporting, operational dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences.
  • Support the actualization and forecasting for within the financial model for the total supply chain costs and fulfillment network
  • Take ownership of establishing and managing new financial processes to address current gaps
  • Design and implement processes and reporting frameworks to enhance operational transparency.
  • Leverage financial systems to provide visibility and transparency to business leaders in order to better track against financial targets.
  • Proactively provide value-added feedback to improve current processes from both an operational and strategic viewpoint.
  • Support development of monthly and quarterly board presentations, long-range planning (5 Year Plan), and other critical business requests.
  • Collaborate with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that critical decision data is accurate and timely.
  • Support Capital Planning process, including financial analysis, cost/benefit tracking, and business case development.

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.

The estimated pay range for this role is $108,896.00 - 163,344.00

In addition, Babylist offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including company paid health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
