The US private markets remain the largest in the world and has in recent years, seen an increasing number of US promoters seeking to extend their exposure to European markets, in particular Luxembourg. As such, our ability to focus not only on delivering growth in the US domestic market, but also in originating opportunities to support US promoters who are setting up European vehicles will become increasingly important, as we pursue our strategy to become a more globally relevant partner to our clients.

To capitalise on this market opportunity and provide further value to our growing US client base, we are looking for the ideal candidate to head our first European Desk in New York. 

What you'll be doing

  • Work closely within the US Commercial team and client facing teams across the US and Europe to develop contact with key prospects and existing clients in the US who have an interest in establishing European vehicles/have European exposure. In addition, the successful candidate will work with the US Commercial team to develop a program of insights and market facing activities to help establish Aztec’s credentials as a transatlantic specialist
  • Support in market-facing activities, including conference participation and Aztec hosted events to grow Aztec’s network and brand profile through establishing meaningful contact with prospects and influencers, in order to grow Aztec’s market share with US funds utilising European structures
  • Act as the technical European subject matter expert who can talk knowledgeably about European fund structures, regulations and ways of working.
  • Participate in new business proposals / pitches as necessary, including providing pricing views.
  • Represent Aztec at specific networking and industry events with clear goals around levels of engagement and ROI
  • Speak at relevant events to build Aztec brand within the US market
  • Collaborate with relevant client facing teams in Europe to onboard won mandates
  • Work with Marketing team to support in the production of thought leadership, which helps to illuminate key market trends and dynamics

What we're looking for

  • Considerable practical fund administration experience supported by a relevant professional qualification 
  • Demonstrable understanding as to European fund structures and regulatory requirements
  • Sound technical financial services knowledge
  • Excellent client and KBI relationship skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of developing close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
  • Evidence of full responsibility for a major client relationship(s)
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative nature
  • Solution oriented critical thinking
