Reports to Director for Technology for Markets

The Senior Solution Architect will play a critical role in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and interoperable technology solutions that support Aztec’s expanding portfolio of client services and products. Working within the enterprise architecture framework and reporting to the Director of Technology – Markets, this role is pivotal to enabling complex, non-standard client onboarding, integration, and delivery projects.

You will operate at the intersection of technology, business, and client delivery—owning solution design across multiple concurrent initiatives while ensuring alignment with Aztec’s long-term technology strategy. This is a high-impact role requiring both strong architectural discipline and a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset.

Key responsibilities:

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Deliver solution architecture across a portfolio of high-volume, multi-stream projects, including new client onboardings, system integrations, and platform enhancements.
  • Design for scalability, modularity, and adaptability to meet the varying needs of institutional clients, fund structures, and regulatory contexts.
  • Translate ambiguous or evolving business requirements into robust solution designs across core systems (e.g., eFront, Yardi, Viewpoint, Investran, Fenergo).
  • Ensure all solutions are secure, compliant, and interoperable with both Aztec’s platforms and clients’ own technology environments.

Client-Facing Integration & Customisation

Technology Selection & Innovation

  • Assess new tools, services, and platforms for suitability in solving client- or delivery-driven challenges.
  • Deliver proof-of-concept solutions for emerging use cases such as workflow automation, secure portals, and data services.
  • Support innovation by evaluating architectural fit of new tools within Aztec’s evolving application ecosystem.
  • Provide input into the long-term roadmap for client and market technology products

Architecture Governance & Delivery Alignment

  • Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture principles, data governance policies, and security frameworks.
  • Actively participate in design reviews and architecture boards to maintain consistency and reduce technical debt.
  • Balance architecture integrity with practical delivery timelines and resource constraints.
  • Provide hands-on support to delivery teams during implementation, testing, and deployment.

Integration & Data Architecture

  • Define and document API strategies, ETL designs, and middleware integration patterns for seamless interoperability across Aztec and third-party platforms.
  • Align integration designs with the enterprise data model and master data management standards.
  • Promote reusability and standardisation of data flows, services, and integration components.

Security, Risk & Compliance

  • Embed security, privacy, and audit controls into every solution design, ensuring readiness for GDPR, SOC 2, and ISAE 3402 requirements.
  • Work closely with InfoSec, Compliance, and Risk functions to identify and mitigate architectural risks.

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

  • Strong experience in designing complex, multi-system solutions within high-volume project environments.
  • Hands-on understanding of systems such as eFront, Yardi, Investran, Viewpoint, Fenergo, and client-facing portals.
  • Proficiency in solution architecture disciplines including integration (API, ETL, middleware), application interoperability, and secure design.
  • Skilled at working with non-standard, custom client requirements and translating them into structured technical designs.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders from both business and technical backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with UML, ArchiMate, or similar architecture modelling tools

Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in solution architecture or senior system design roles, ideally in financial services or fund administration.
  • Experience in high-pressure, concurrent delivery environments, supporting multiple stakeholders and fast-moving projects.
  • Exposure to enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and security standards is beneficial.
  • Certifications in relevant tools, platforms, or cloud services (e.g., Azure, API/middleware platforms) are an advantage.

This role provides an opportunity to lead the evolution of Aztec’s technology landscape, driving innovation and operational excellence in a fast-growing, client-focused environment. As a Senior Solution Architect, you will have a significant impact on Aztec’s digital transformation journey, shaping the future of financial services technology.
