We are dedicated to one genre, role-playing games, and led by veteran designer Mark Otero (Zero-to-one director of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, EA’s most successful mobile game of all time, with $1.5B lifetime revenue). Azra has assembled an expert team with decades of experience building blockbuster games. Our debut release, Legions & Legends, will be Mark’s ninth RPG. And his best. Azra Games believes in harnessing the power of technology, with a focus on generative AI, to radically disrupt & transform game development.

Who we’re looking for:

We are seeking a Lead User Experience Designer to join our team on an ambitious journey of building truly unique and exceptional mobile and PC games. 

 

We’re looking for a driven self-starter with a strong understanding of mobile games, RPGs, and has  product design focus for accommodating cross-platform play.



The responsibilities include collaborating through all phases of the design process, including conceptual design/development, graphic and interface design, interaction models, prototypes, user/task flows, implementation in the game engine, and growing a UX team.

 

The Lead User Experience Designer contributes to the team by developing the Experience Design vision of a product and carries out that vision. This role leads the effort in innovative and pioneering design to create user-centered solutions that promote ease of use, employ best-in-class game/interaction design, and optimize the user experience universally in response to user testing.

 

You will work closely with team stakeholders to establish and maintain the visual integrity, interaction methods, brand standards, and consistency for the game and collaborate with Product Management, Game Design, Production, and Engineering for the execution of the design.

Requirements

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working directly on a daily basis with founders and leadership to define and execute our design strategy.
  • Design engaging and thoughtful user experiences across web2 and web3 products.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, game designers, live ops managers, community and growth leaders in Azra to deliver best in class game experiences.
  • Design deep and complex heavy menu based crafting and progression system UX flows as well as clean and playable gameplay-driven screen layouts.
  • Able to integrate novel web3 experiences that can be used as acquisition funnels for future game players.
  • Helping design and drive player testing goals and initiatives. Then, break down and iterate on flows based on player feedback. 

What you bring to the table:

  • You have 5+ years of professional UX/UI design experience.
  • You've designed at least one product or game that's achieved some scale.
  • Strong command of modern design tools including but not limited to: Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Zepplin, After Effects, Framer, Lottie, and Abstract.

It's even better if you've:

  • Have experience unifying design systems.
  • Are able to adapt overall game flow and screen architecture as game needs evolve.
  • Have designed for complex game genres and/or marketplaces.
  • Have built a web3 enabled gaming experience.
  • Have experience / willingness to wear multiple 🎩 and also function as a product lead.
  • Understand and can explain the impact that design decisions have on retention, engagement, and fun.

Base Salary Range: $106,000-$159,000. The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
