Role: Data Strategist 

Location: West London



As the Data Strategist you will be delivering the end-to-end strategic and content solution for the main European markets. Later this year, our team will be expanding to also deliver the CRM strategy and creative for these regions.

Formed in 2019, our in-house team (ENGINE) serves as Hertz’ bespoke agency, working at the heart of their business delivering the end-to-end strategic and content solution for the main European markets. Later this year, our team will be expanding to also deliver the CRM strategy and creative for these regions.

  • Designing data strategies for a range of cross-channel, CRM campaigns from ad-hoc comms to wider lifecycle and loyalty experiences
  • Working with analysts, strategists and other stakeholders to embed best practice measurement, reporting and insight generation at the heart of all our work – ensuring work is always insightful, action-oriented and has robust measures of success in place
  • Act as a CRM specialist for our clients, using data strategy and analytical techniques to design connected customer experiences in areas such as data collection, personalisation, segmentation, marketing automation
  • Develop innovative approaches to data solutions – leveraging diverse datasets to decode consumer behaviour and gain a deeper understanding of performance and headroom across the entire journey
  • Develop test and learn frameworks to identify new creative and consumer optimisation opportunities to enhance understanding of audiences and the ROI of campaigns
  • Leverage knowledge of wider analytical techniques such as predictive modelling, cluster and segmentation to develop new routes to tackling client requirement
  • Champion the continual development of our comms, tools and practices from a data perspective. Developing roadmaps to support future growth and improved data maturity
  • Act as an ambassador for data across the team and wider group, showcasing the value it can add to creative, content and experiences



  • Experienced CRM Data Strategy for multi-market, large-scale brands
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Desire to continually learn and push the boundaries
  • Excellent communication / data storytelling skills, ability to distil complex ideas for non-technical audiences
  • An active interest in behavioural science approaches and techniques – and how this can be delivered through data
  • Ability to carry out analysis through Excel as well as other self-serve analytics tools
  • Previous exposure to Marketing Automation / Campaign Management / ESP tools i.e. Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Confidence and comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Collaborative team player, open minded
  • Ability to work with and influence stakeholders at all levels
