ROLE: Financial Controller





Adjust Your Set (AYS) is a leading content agency, working with global clients including Facebook, Hertz, RB, Pizza Express and Bacardi. AYS is part of the Inside Ideas Group (IIG), which comprises leading agencies including Oliver, Dare and Aylesworth Fleming. AYS has a team of 35 currently and is in a period of fast growth and transformation, with an influx of new clients, new talent and expertise. Due to recent new business wins we will grow to 70+ people by September.

We are looking for a Financial Controller, to lead AYS’ day to day finance function and manage a team of 2 (Finance Partner & Account Payable Manager). This is a role where you will work closely with the IIG Group finance team, representing AYS as a subsidiary and ensuring process and policy alignment with the Group and other Group agencies. You will report to Adjust Your Set’s CEO & MD with a dotted line into the Finance Director overseeing all IIG subsidiaries and work closely with the AYS Senior Management Team to ensure effective control of AYS’ finances.

You will work with a cross functional team to gather the inputs and data needed to have a true understanding of the business’ performance and health, including – Operations Manager (team utilisation, freelancers) and Head of Client Services (client income, rate cards).

This is a stimulating and rewarding role with a lot of variation and challenges for an enthusiastic and driven individual. The AYS business continues to grow at a significant pace and its Finance team needs to continually evolve to meet the needs of a larger business.



  • Managing a finance team of 2

  • Preparing the weekly Dashboard for the MD & CEO

  • Weekly meetings & reporting to MD/CEO to ensure that they are up to date on the AYS finance

    position & are aware of any potential issues arising.

  • Preparing monthly management accounts

  • Preparing annual budgets & quarterly re-forecasts

  • Monthly financial planning with the MD

  • Ensuring all financial controls & processes are followed ensuring accurate reporting

  • Weekly & monthly reporting to Group (including MA’s, Income, cashflow and adhoc).

  • Authorising all bank payments online

  • Signing off & submitting monthly payroll to external payroll provider

  • Overseeing annual audit

  • Advising Client Services team on commercial matters relating to client work, payment terms, contracts


  • Cashflow Management – including weekly forecast reporting to Group

  • Ensuring all processes & procedures are adhered to whilst also helping to implement improvements

  • Creating and presenting finance packs for the Quarterly board meetings

  • Any other adhoc finance duties


  • Significant experience in Financial Accounting, consolidation and reporting

  • Commercial awareness - understanding local market factors, results and performance and foreseeing

    their impact

  • Highly computer literate - Advanced Excel skills; comfortable dealing with complex formulae

  • Adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people at all levels both internally and externally, and at a Group level

  • High attention to detail

  • A can-do attitude

  • Driven and capable of driving process change and improvement
