As a Procurement Team Lead, you will play a critical role in managing the procurement process within an organization. You will be responsible for leading a team of buyers and contract specialists, fostering collaboration, and aligning efforts with organizational objectives, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality and cost-effectiveness. Reporting to the Manager, IT Procurement, this position requires a strategic mindset, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of vendor management and strategic sourcing principles.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success within the infrastructure department.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the procurement team.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization within the procurement function.
  • Oversee the management of relationships with vendors and suppliers and the procurement, maintenance, and refurbishment of IT hardware and software.
  • Ensure vendor contracts and agreements are accurately documented, up-to-date, and renewed on time.
  • Monitor vendor performance, identifying and reporting any issues to management.
  • Facilitate negotiations with vendors to secure optimal pricing, contract terms, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet vendor and sourcing requirements, resolve issues, and address general procurement challenges.
  • Provide integration and support for the procurement system used by the department.
  • Review vendor and procurement invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and conduct research on new vendors and suppliers.
  • Manage the engagement process for new vendors, coordinating with internal legal, GRC, and security teams.
  • Maintain the entire purchase order cycle, ensure accurate data entry, and keep all records updated in the system for effective inventory management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT, Security, Compliance, etc., to align efforts and achieve organizational goals.

What you'll need to be successful:

Must haves: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement and contract management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to haves: 

  • Familiarity working with IT ServiceDesk and ServiceNow Platforms
  • Knowledge of different types of IT Hardware
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable processing as it relates to invoice reconciliation
