Your Impact 
 
Axon’s Commercial Operations team is searching for a Senior Analyst to help design and deliver improvements to Axon’s Quote to Cash ecosystem.     

Ideal candidates will be passionate about technology, agile product management, and optimizing processes.  The Senior Analyst of Commercial Systems is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Vice President of Commercial Operations, who will work cross-functionally with IT, Finance, Sales and Sales Operations to deliver an outstanding customer experience while supporting rapid growth and multiple business transformation initiatives.  

 The Senior Commercial Systems Analyst will help support the design and implementation of scalable and efficient CRM and ERP solutions which support Axon’s Commercial models. This role will gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform (Revenue Cloud (CPQ and Billing), Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud) and ERP systems, as well as vast experience with Financial systems and internal control requirements.  The Senior Analyst will recommend and deliver best practices via a system design which supports effective internal controls over quotes, orders and billing.  The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in architecting system and process solutions that meet business requirements, as well as delivering process improvement programs.  

This role collaborates with various stakeholders to define product vision, roadmap, and delivery timelines while prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value. 

This role requires a strong business process focus, deep technical expertise, leadership skills, financial systems acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.  

Candidates should have deep B2B Sales, Services and Financial Systems experience, as well as experience in Hardware, SaaS, and Professional Services industries, ideally combined.  

Candidates will have built simple but robust solutions in Salesforce using Sales, Marketing, Revenue, and Service Cloud technologies. This role will balance complex business requirements with ideal end state architecture for our commercial systems, helping ensure effective operations which can scale. 

What You’ll Do 

Location: Scottsdale, Boston, Seattle, Atlanta, Denver, San Francisco, or Washington D.C. 
Reports to: Vice President, Commercial Operations 

  • Helps define the vision and direction of Axon’s CRM product, prioritizing features, and ensuring that the product delivers value to customers and aligns with business goals
  • Partner with process owners to identify business challenges that can be solved with IT solutions, including automation and modernizing systems / architecture
  • Work closely with IT team to define the architecture and design of complex Salesforce and ERP solutions, considering scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements
  • Set overall Commercial Operations IT program roadmap and prioritization
  • Possess deep expertise in B2B business models of multiple varieties to help identify process and system improvements for Axon
  • Salesforce Revenue Cloud (CPQ and Billing), Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud expertise
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical solutions within the Salesforce and ERP ecosystem
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and product managers to guide roadmap development of each Salesforce and relevant ERP product area
  • Support designs of major software components, systems, and features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including process owners, developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure successful delivery of Salesforce and ERP projects
  • Helps support strong integration logic and validations between Salesforce and ERP systems
  • Ability to deliver internal control requirements with high quality system design, including data validation and exception reporting   
  • Responsible for coordinating system testing, UAT, and supports the resolution of operational issues related to Salesforce and ERP systems
  • Coordinate testing of enhancement and change requests, ensuring process owners and business stakeholder alignment and sign off
  • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to resolve issues, manage risks, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stay updated on Salesforce and ERP platform updates, new features, and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions to business challenges
  • Support technical discussions and present architecture designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You Bring 

  • Experience with Quote to Cash process and supporting systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field
  • Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA), Salesforce Certified Application Architect, and Salesforce Certified System Architect are highly desirable
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience implementing Salesforce and custom development solutions, with a proven track record of successful project delivery
  • 5+ years of supporting business transformation and process redesign  
  • Deep experience with customization of the Salesforce platform and re-architecture of customizations within the platform
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce Lightning Platform, including Lightning Web Components, Apex, Visualforce, and Salesforce APIs
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce data model, security model, and governance best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications with ability to communicate highly complex concepts and processes in simple terms and pragmatically.
  • Strong understanding of Financial systems and internal controls
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to influence decisions which best support the business  
  • 4+ years of experience in product management or technical product ownership, with a strong focus on CPQ or Quote to Cash systems.
  • A self-starter, proactive team player with excellent relationship building and collaboration skills, facilitating a network of strong relationships across the organization.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, revenue recognition, billing, invoicing, and other Quote to Cash components.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies and experience leading scrum teams.
  • Experience with integration of CPQ systems into ERP, CRM, and other enterprise systems is a plus.  
  • Can represent Finance in the development, testing, and implementation of functional changes related to enhancements on the front-end and backend order management system as it relates to sales accounting
  • Gather, document and communicate project requirements from business and project teams
  • Proficiency in Salesforce configuration and customization using declarative tools such as Process Builder, Flow Builder, and Salesforce Automation.
  • Experience with Salesforce integration patterns and technologies such as REST, SOAP, and Middleware platforms.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 168,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 230,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
