Your Impact
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will lead and manage complex cross-functional projects across both infrastructure and application domains. This role is critical to driving the successful delivery of key technology initiatives by managing all aspects of program delivery, from planning through execution, and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. You will work on building scalable processes and templates to be leveraged in planning, execution and reporting. You will work very closely with Business Solutions Architects l as Engineering, product, and operations teams to formalize intake and capacity planning scope requirements, prioritize deliverables, and communicate progress to stakeholders, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.

Location: Work from home as much as you want, live nearby any of our awesome US R&D Hubs (Scottsdale, Seattle, Atlanta, or Boston) so you can easily collab in-person when it’s helpful and be an active part of our vibrant Axon culture.
Reports to: Principal Program Manager

Program Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of infrastructure and application
programs, from initiation through planning, execution, and closure. Establish program
goals, define success metrics, and track progress to ensure objectives are met. -
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product
management, engineering, IT operations, and leadership, to ensure seamless
communication and alignment on project goals and timelines. -
Project Planning and Coordination: Develop detailed project plans, including schedules,
budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies, while coordinating across
multiple teams to meet deadlines and deliverables. -
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement proactive solutions to mitigate
them, ensuring that any issues are promptly addressed to avoid impact on project
timelines. -
Technical Leadership: Provide guidance on infrastructure and application best practices,
assisting teams in designing scalable, secure, and robust systems. Evaluate new
technologies, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and quality. -
Resource Management: Partner with engineering managers and other stakeholders to
ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation for project success. Advocate for
resources and ensure timely availability to meet project milestones. -
Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices for program management and
process improvement to optimize project delivery and reduce bottlenecks. -
Performance Reporting: Develop and deliver regular status reports, updates, and
presentations to senior management, providing clear insights into project health, timelines, and any critical issues requiring escalation.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in program or project management within a technical environment, ideally involving both infrastructure and application projects.
- Proven experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and a deep understanding of program management best practices.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies (e.g., cloud services, networking, security, databases) and application development processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a track record of leading projects to successful completion.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Confluence) and a certification such as PMP or Scrum Master is a plus.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 137,275 in the lowest geographic market and USD 185,725,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
