Your Impact

Axon Virtual Reality (VR) Training is a new initiative within Axon, focused on the use of virtual reality training technology for law enforcement and public safety. Axon VR Account Executives are seasoned sales professionals focused on new product sales. This role works alongside existing Key Account Executives who partner with the Top 1200 largest law enforcement agencies in the country. Your role is to augment the Account Executive to lead discovery efforts and thought leadership around the complex procurement of VR. You are responsible for assisting with and leading pre-sales discovery, value building, and sales of VR products in tandem with the main Account Executives. Your ability to think creatively, articulate complex solutions, uncover latent pain, build and maintain senior and end user level relationships, and connect with agency stakeholders will be key to your success.

What You’ll Do

Location: Remotely covering the Central Territory
Reports to:
Manager, Virtual Reality

  • Develop a deep technical understanding of Axon VR's product and technology offerings in order to sell into domestic law enforcement agencies throughout your territory.
  • Partner with the broader Axon sales team as a functional expert on the VR platform, to sell Axon VR as a specific offering and build pre-sales plans and relationships within prospective customer agencies.
  • Understand the customer's business and workflows, and develop a proper contact network within assigned accounts while establishing relationships to drive overall customer success and satisfaction.
  • Identify known and latent pain points and needs within agencies; specifically around training.
  • Articulate the plan to solve for those problems and pain points through adoption of Axon VR.
  • Develop and execute account strategy by collaborating with the team to deliver stronger and more impactful value propositions.
  • Develop technical and administrative product information, conduct demonstrations and/or product training.
  • Forecast predictions, update management of accounts in a timely fashion, collect intelligence on competitor activity, and give feedback to marketing for continual improvement.
  • Track customer activity in Salesforce and other internal systems to execute on account strategy and identify additional opportunities.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent applicable experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated successful customer facing full-cycle Software (SaaS / Cloud) Sales or Sales Adjacent Experience.
  • 2+ years experience working with public safety and/or law enforcement agencies in a sales, sales engineer, or similar role is preferred.
  • Previous experience with VR and/or training is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of public safety technological needs and workflows is preferred.
  • Startup experience is preferred.
  • Team selling experience is preferred.
  • Solution or consultative sales experience working within complex sales processes.
  • Proven ability to drive adoption of disruptive technology solutions in an existing competitive market.
  • Able to clearly and directly articulate complex solution offerings across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to effectively and successfully perform demonstrations / presentations.
  • Salesforce or equivalent CRM experience.
  • Highly proficient computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills.
  • Excellent understanding of cloud and virtualization technology.
  • Ability to strategically approach and win accounts as well as continue to grow or expand existing accounts.
  • Willing to travel 70% or more within your territory (3-4 days a week, including overnights).

The Pay: The compensation for this role is made up of an uncapped commissions and a starting base pay between USD 78000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 111700 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and geographic market demands and often a combination of all these factors.
