Your Impact
As a Senior Engineer at Axon, you will bring your experience and knowledge to directly impact our mission to protect life by delivering class leading experiences for our customers. Your work will directly contribute to how public safety agencies across 90 countries are able to efficiently review, analyse and share evidence. You’ll also create the tools that enable agencies to rapidly review, clip and mark up video evidence. You’ll work to build the supporting UI components, ensuring they’re intuitive, well tested and performant. You’ll join forces with our teams across the US and Vietnam to enrich the video experience across web and mobile platforms, while collaborating closely with supporting back-end service teams.
What you’ll do
- Build user experiences that create capabilities to quickly review, analysis and share evidence and video
- Work to develop our universal video player, integrating across key Axon products including Evidence.com, delivering incredible video experiences that are fast, responsive, resilient and scalable
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand customer needs and future requirements
- Provide and contribute to technical designs and technical architecture, working in a highly collaborative manner with other technical leaders to develop well architected system designs
- Helping to raise the bar in your team through your contribution to code reviews, architecture designs and approaches to quality
- Have an unwavering focus on quality, ensuring code is thoroughly tested through applying innovative automation and load testing approaches
What You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience
- Experienced at building delightful front-end experiences, with excellent knowledge of Javascript, Typescript and React.
- Good knowledge of the protocols, patterns and test frameworks that are needed to create amazing user experiences
- An excellent communicator, able to take difficult technical concepts and make them accessible to a range of audiences
- Highly collaborative approach, working with others to lead with influence
- Experience with performance and optimisation problems, and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub, TeamCity, ArgoCD, etc
- Desired: Experience working with Video technologies including Players, DRM, DASH and HLS.
