Your Impact
As Sr. Director, International Government Affairs you are a dynamic and experienced leader with deep experience managing International government affairs programs. You will be responsible for helping inform and drive Axon’s International government affairs efforts across EMEA, APAC and the Americas (excluding the U.S.), with a primary focus on EMEA. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Government Affairs, you will manage external teams of government affairs consultants located throughout the world. You will help shape legislative and procurement strategies, educate stakeholders on the benefits of Axon’s products and solutions, and collaborate with Axon’s leadership, sales and communications teams. Finally, you should bring a passion for technology, public safety and Axon’s mission to Protect Life.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Axon’s short- and long-term international government affairs strategy in EMEA, APAC and Latin America
- Drive a compliance first culture in Axon’s government affairs efforts
- Hire, manage and lead internal and external government affairs consultants
- Evangelize the transformational impact of Axon technology, including cloud technology, on public safety and national security
- Translate sales and product priorities into nationally specific government affairs plans
- Support Axon’s country managers in government procurement matters
- Lead Axon’s involvement in legislative and regulatory actions and initiatives
- Assess and manage Axon’s political risk on a national market basis
- Develop and maintain contacts with industry, elected officials and industry/government associations
- Represent Axon before parliamentary and regulatory bodies
- Support and engage in public affairs campaigns in conjunction with Axon’s Communications team
- Help prepare position papers as well as project messaging points
What You Bring
- Seven plus years experience in International government affairs and public policy.
- Experience representing the technology sector.
- Must possess political savvy sufficient to affect short-term and long-term results in the political environment.
- Demonstrated experience and success working in a bipartisan fashion to achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with government decision makers and influencers.
- Strong team building and coalition experience, including working with public affairs and public relations firms.
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills.
