Job Summary of the Maintenance Planner
A Maintenance Planner coordinates and schedules all maintenance activities to ensure minimal disruption to production operations. This role involves managing preventive and regular maintenance, utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and ensuring safety and environmental standards compliance.
Requirements of the Maintenance Planner
- A high school diploma or GED required.
- Certification in a technical or maintenance-related discipline required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a maintenance planner, scheduler, or technician.
- At least five (5) years of industrial experience, preferably in an FDA-regulated manufacturing plant or related industry.
- Experience with Blue Mountain and Microsoft Office products.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing plant equipment and maintenance processes.
- Familiarity with Federal/State EPA and OSHA compliance standards.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Hands-on experience with Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager (RAM) is needed.
- Familiarity with GMP compliance and maintenance of GMP equipment, lab equipment, and utilities.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Planner
The specific duties of the Maintenance Planner include but are not limited to:
- Balance office-based management of CMMS and hands-on maintenance tasks.
- Use understanding of maintenance processes to accurately assess, assign or perform preventative maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules and work orders.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with production requirements.
- Provide support for Facilities activities to ensure optimal results.
- Investigate maintenance-related problems, analyze root causes, and drive resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Management Assistant for all aspects of the CMMS, including system design, configuration, and testing.
- Support staff in effectively utilizing the CMMS and identify improvements.
- Maintain records and files essential to maintenance management.
- Maintain parts inventory and ensure availability of required parts.
- Coordinate with facilities team, contractors, and external vendors.
- Estimate labor and parts costs for industrial equipment repairs, upgrades, and overhauls.
- Serve as a liaison between maintenance and operations.

Axogen is on a hybrid work schedule for some of our positions based out of our headquarters in Florida, with 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The hybrid work schedule does not include sales or facilities in Ohio or Texas.
