Job Summary of the Region Sales Director

The Region Sales Director is responsible for the management of a region as defined by a specific number of sales territories to achieve targeted sales goals with Axogen’s portfolio of peripheral nerve repair products. 

Requirements of the Region Sales Director

  • 5+ years of Operating Room Sales Experience focusing in Lifesciences
  • 2+ years sales management experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of Axogen Experience required
  • Strong written, verbal, computer and interpersonal skills
  • Proven record of sales team building, motivation and leadership
  • Capable of motivating and communicating effectively with teams responsible for delivering direct sales
  • Experienced and skilled at coaching and counseling field sales representatives
  • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative environment
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills relative to job expectations
  • Willingness to travel as required 

Responsibilities of the Region Sales Director

  • Demonstrate a high level of business acumen to maximize region sales through good pricing practices, spending decisions and the use of organizational resources (Regional and National Professional education and Industry Meetings)
  • Analyze sales, marketing and financial information to monitor trends and achievement towards sales goals
  • Work with VP Sales to develop realistic and achievable territory sales objectives
  • Manage field inventory to optimally balance availability of product and inventory cost
  • Meet expectations as defined by VP of Sales and AxoGen leadership
  • Prepare and present semi-annual Region Business Plan to VP Sales and Senior Mgt.
  • Work with region reps. to plan, target and close business opportunities.
  • Sales Leadership at Company Meetings
  • Keep VP of Sales and corporate promptly and accurately informed of competitive activities, industry trends and product acceptance
  • Provide input and instruction to all functions within AxoGen that support ongoing sales channel development
  • Monitors and manages representatives’ use and adoption of AxoGen sales intelligence tools (i.e. sales reports, CRM, etc.)
  • Participate in routine sales meetings directly related to increasing sales
  • Aid in developing sales training, sales tools and developing programs to drive sales
  • Demonstrate creative, insightful ideas and implement them quickly and effectively
  • To effectively staff the region and maintain communications with region sales personnel so they operate efficiently within established company guidelines and AxoGenic values.
  • Conduct regular field visits with region staff to aid in their development, monitor their progress towards goals, clarify sales direction, help negotiate agreements and build key customer relations
  • Be a training resource to subsidize corporate training (Primary School, clinical papers, etc.)
  • Work with region personnel to recognize, encourage and enable professional growth.
  • Work closely with VP Sales and Human Resources regarding personnel hiring, employee development, improvement plans and terminations
  • Adherence with all company policies and procedures; Sunshine Act, AdvaMed, etc.,
  • Compliance with all relevant clinical and regulatory body guidelines
  • Adherence to customer account policies and procedures where applicable
  • Compliance with all safety standards, policies and regulations
  • Compliance with all other standards, policies and legal requirements related to this position

Benefits/Compensation

The anticipated target compensation for base plus commission is ~$300k (uncapped).

Axogen is on a hybrid work schedule for some of our positions based out of our headquarters in Florida, with 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The hybrid work schedule does not include sales or facilities in Ohio or Texas.

Axogen follows healthcare system guidelines with respect to credentialing, vaccinations and other employment/compliance related requirements, as well as CDC guidance. Axogen reserves the right to amend its policies from time to time in its sole discretion.
