Overview
Axle is seeking a highly ambitious, adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented Senior Scientist to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Office of the Director (OD), Division of Intramural Research (DIR),
Technical Requirements:
- Advise, manage, and participate in activities to assure that clinical trials supported by the lab are conducted in accordance with FDA regulations and NIAID policies and procedures.
- Provide support to protocol development teams to assist in clinical trial design and implementation issues and to identify and resolve clinical, ethical, and logistical problems and issues which may impede implementation or successful completion of the studies.
- Assist in the management of patient files, copying and organizing research data.
- Oversee ongoing protocol operations to ensure study compliance and troubleshooting possible protocol violations.
- Assist with recruiting and screening subjects, conducting screening visits, conducting vaccine and follow-up visits, entering data into case report forms contained in a central research database, participating in quality assurance activities, assisting with preparation for monitoring visits, DSMB reviews, IRB and FDA submissions.
- Ensure institutional compliance with federal regulations to the ethical conduct of research as well as organizing and balancing multiple and competing priorities; managing communication with committee members and researchers.
Specific Qualifications:
- BS degree or 5 years of work experience is equalivant to BS degree.
- Minimum of five (5) years of work experience is required.
- Effective and clear communication skills and the ability to work in a high stress environment.
