Fabricator

Position Title: Fabricator

Position Description: Highly skilled and experienced Fabricator responsible for producing high-quality products for building custom equipment. The Fabricator will collaborate with colleagues and management to plan and execute welding projects efficiently and effectively. This individual will hold responsibilities in modernizing our fabrication department (equipment, methods, etc.) alongside management.

Responsibilities:

• TIG, MIG, Arc welding of various types of steel and aluminum to print
• Will lay out, cut, fit, measure and weld metals to create the desired shape or object. This work is highly detailed and requires knowledge of many techniques and tools.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure viability of projects
• Assist in scheduling workload and recommend tooling needs to save time
• Reads and interprets blueprints and CAD models to determine the specific welding requirements
• Operate fork truck, crane and move product in a safe manner
• Maintain a clean and organized fabrication area
• Assist other departments (machining, build, etc.) when workload allows

Education and Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years working in a job shop environment
• Minimum of 3 references
• Ability to work overtime as required, with a typical work week consisting of 48-50 hours depending on workload
• Strong understanding of metal fabrication principals, including metallurgy, heat treatment, and mechanical properties of metals.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal to no assistance, as well as part of a team
• Ability to perform in a team environment to achieve company goals in quality, safety, productivity and process improvement
• Basic machining knowledge, math skills and high mechanical aptitude
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A skill center certification or associate degree preferred, or willingness to enroll in continuing education if needed
