Position Title(s): Controls Engineer: Levels 2-3

Position Description: Controls Engineers of all levels work with other Controls Engineers, Project Managers, Mechanical Engineers, Builders, Technicians and other personnel to design, implement and document control systems for various types of automation and robotic equipment. You will be involved with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic design, simulation, PLC, robot and peripheral device programming, machine debug and validation / buyoff. Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of equipment represents 10-20% of time.

 

Position Opportunities:

  • Controls Engineer, Level 2: Typically, 2-3 years’ experience in Controls Engineering, with advancement to handle many tasks autonomously and independently, requiring minimal oversight on daily issues.
  • Controls Engineer, Level 3: Typically, >3 years’ experience in Controls Engineering and Controls Design, with ability to manage small projects independently, interface with customer, support less experienced team members, and be a self-starter.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Related experience/training in Controls environment
  • Preference for Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field but not necessary with relevant experience
  • Willing to travel domestically approximately 10%-20%
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, Robot, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and/or Vision Systems 
  • Experience working with AutoCAD Electrical (or similar software) to design electrical layouts
  • Preferred experience with any of various robotic simulation software

 

Salary: $70,000-$120,000

Additional Compensation: Overtime pay, travel pay, year-end bonus, employee referral bonus, customer referral bonus
