The Business Development Engineer shall evaluate processes, configure manufacturing system proposals for our customers, and assist with the optimization of the quoting process. Duties include:

  • Responsible for developing new and managing existing key customer accounts for a range of factory automation equipment solutions
  • Partner closely with the Process & Cost Engineering department to properly evaluate proposals and provide necessary concept, engineering and pricing feedback expeditiously to customer accounts
  • Conceptualize assembly processes describing how the end users’ part will be manufactured with automation equipment
  • Interact with suppliers and cross functional team members from Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management and Manufacturing to solicit input establishing project proposals
  • Liaise with management to develop and execute business development and segmentation strategies
  • Maintain accurate and consistent reporting of all customer project proposals
  • Occasional travel to meet customers, support all proposal activities with technical and commercial content
  • Professional management of customer relationships and requests
  • Real-time communication with company management on developments


Education and Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in engineering, manufacturing, project management or business development in the automation integration industry
  • Preferred experience selling to an OEM or Tier 1 manufacturer
  • Preferred experience with automotive tool design and welding applications
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering-related field (preferred)
  • Intermediate technical understanding of machine design and robotic integration manufacturing challenges
  • The ability to work with others in a team atmosphere
  • Comfortable with speaking technically in front of groups (co-workers & customers)
