We are hiring an Associate Director, Axios Live  Strategy to join our growing team of strategists, collaborating to enhance existing events and support the development of new and innovative products and services across the Axios Live portfolio!

Why it matters: The Associate Director, Axios Live Strategy will serve as a key participant in research and planning, creative event ideation, and actionable strategy development to maximize Axios-wide business goals. You will be on the team responsible for building worthy content + program ideas from brainstorming to deployment while utilizing your background in events activation. This includes playing a key role in brand development behind new products and partnerships with revenue and brand strategy stakeholders. 

Zoom in: As the Associate Director, Axios Live, you will work directly with the Senior Director, Axios Live, Strategy and EVP, Axios Live, in supporting the insights and development of ideas to drive innovation across our event portfolio. In this role, you will make an impact within Axios through the following responsibilities:

  • Show analytical skill set by collecting and mining data (e.g. competitor research, ongoing evaluation of existing events, and audience data) to uncover industry-level challenges as part of informing creative concepts for Axios Live formats 
  • Support the development of marketing materials, calendars, and core Event trackers to showcase the best of Axios Live in market 
  • Partner and brainstorm with brand strategy, Smart Brevity Studio, business development, and other teams to ideate new formats, concepts, and markets
  • Ensure all new and existing event products reinforce Axios company-wide growth and editorial excellence by bringing our journalism to new subscribers, expanding brand awareness for new launches/newsletters, and hitting revenue goals
  • Inspire existing and new advertising partners by developing and presenting ideas for what brands could do with Axios Live and support the Event Operations team to executive those ideas 
  • Participate in key Axios and other tentpole events across the year to source industry insights 
  • Support the smooth and effective transition from pre to post-sale with operations stakeholders

Details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills:

  • 3-5  years of experience in events strategy, business development, and creative concept development
  • Experience applying creative insights + data to strategic business-led ideas
  • A pulse on the creative innovations in the events industry and a strong eye for design and creative vision 
  • History of building and maintaining strong relationships and orchestrating effective communication across a myriad of internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional client-facing,  customer service, and commercial instincts to serve our business development arm 
  • Growth mindset and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Desire to work hard, learn new skills, and grow professionally

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $79,000 - $90,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account the cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
