Away is seeking a Head of Twitter who will command the brand’s voice on the platform, dynamically posting in real-time to engage new and existing fans on the platform. This role would be a hybrid candidate with skills ranging within Social and Community with a strategic focus in copywriting. This candidate will focus solely on Twitter, expertly weaving Away within trending topics while keeping the brand top of mind for customers seeking luggage solutions and those interested in travel. The right candidate is the ultimate Twitter expert and has experience developing and leading the voice for a brand that is known for their exemplary social media.

This position reports to the Brand Marketing team and is based out of our headquarters in SoHo, NYC.


What you'll do:

  • Tweet! You’ll command our @Away handle on Twitter, writing the tweets and setting the editorial direction on the platform
  • Tell the @Away story in 280 characters or less while weaving in the amazing experiences from our fans all around the world
  • Spark conversations from our community - customers, fans and likeminded brands - sharing with the travel obsessed, dominating the timeline
  • Elevate @Away from being part of the digital chatter to leading the conversation and what every other brand is tagging and RTing 
  • Lead channel with smart, carefully crafted copy establishing the brand as best in class on the platform, generating earned media and recognition within the space
  • Support and grow our ever evolving community on Twitter

Who you are:

  • Have 3-5 years experience working in a professional environment
  • You're a Twitter expert! You live and breathe just to tweet, are completely immersed in the platform and can find any meme, track any hashtag and knows which celeb has been hacked (all of them)
  • Proven track record of leading the voice/social copywriting for influential brands, with a particular emphasis on Twitter
  • Possess razor sharp editing skills, can digest what's happening on Twitter and apply to our brand voice
  • Proficiency crafting creative, unexpected, customer-driven stories that unites and excites our Community while engaging potential brand fans on the platform
  • You are obsessed with building communities, passionate about the customer experience and deeply understand how content constantly evolves on the platform
  • Natural conversationalist who enjoys interacting with our fans
  • Entrepreneurially-minded
  • Smart and organized
  • Friendly and patient
  • Never satisfied with the status quo, always thinking "how can we do this better?"
