The VentureCorps Program

 Alumni Ventures Group (AVG), one of the nation’s most active venture investors, announced on July 30th the launch of a new “VentureCorps” program – a paid, full-time, year-long program designed for graduate students and undergraduate upperclassmen across the country who are interested in a career in entrepreneurship or Venture Capital, and plan to defer or take a leave of absence from a higher education degree program for the 2020-2021 academic year. VentureCorps Members will receive compensation equivalent to an annual $40,000 salary. AVG plans to offer 6-10 positions.

Who Should Apply

 Eligibility Guidelines:

  • Preference is at least 2 years of a bachelor’s degree before the start of the Program
  • Applicants must be primarily based (living/working) in the United States. Preference is to be located in one of our office cities (Boston, New York City, San Fransisco, Chicago or Manchester NH.)
  • Applicants must not be an investor in AVG or any of our funds and VentureCorps Members cannot invest in AVG funds for the duration of their Program participation  
  • Available Full Time for the complete duration of the program (10 months, Labor day- 4th of July)  

The VentureCorps program is geared for individuals already engaged in formal graduate or upper-class undergraduate work who are deferring a year, taking a gap year, or delaying a program or employment start by a year. Specific school affiliation is not required. We encourage individuals from all genders, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds to apply; as with other searches at AVG, we’re looking for a diverse group of candidates with different backgrounds & experiences, consistent with AVG’s Just Cause of expanding the community of entrepreneurship.

Work, depending on each VentureCorps members team within AVG, will range from sourcing promising startups to researching, supporting diligence work, organizational and administrative help, and community outreach efforts (webinars, online connection, portfolio company services, etc.) Each VentureCorps member will be embedded with a team operating out of either San Francisco, Boston, New York, Austin, Chicago, or the company’s HQ in Manchester, New Hampshire; remote applications will be considered.

VentureCorps members will have access to ongoing educational opportunities via AVG webinars, syndication & portfolio due diligence, access to Venture Fellows Program educational coursework, and more.

Application Review Process

The VentureCorps Program will conduct an initial review of all applications received. Applicants who are selected for an interview will be notified after the final application deadline. Interviews will consist of two, 30-minute phone/video interviews. Interviews typically take place 1-2 weeks after the final application deadline.
