Are you ready to own something big? Automox is turning IT admins into IT heroes by replacing traditional tools with our award winning cloud-native endpoint management platform. Our product works autonomously and so do our teams. We value a ‘one team’ mentality where everyone’s unique skills contribute to an environment that encourages collaboration and ownership. At Automox you’re enabled to do your best work, grow your career, and have an impact that will be noticeable. WE ARE A_TOMOX… all that’s missing is U!

OVERVIEW

As a data focused Principal Software Engineer at Automox you will be a technical leader for the company, helping lead our data architecture initiatives. You'll have fun working closely with a diverse team consisting of Engineering Leaders, Staff Engineers, and Product Leaders to understand our internal and external customers,  their markets, and design solutions that customers are excited to use and tell others about. Your work will influence multiple teams and services with a focus on current and future state architecture.

You will not only do hands-on coding but will also help mentor and develop other engineers on strong data practices and design principles. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment that comes with a startup and is excited about making a big impact on the security of companies around the world.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • You will collaborate, unite and lead across all engineering teams to deliver amazing features
  • The data you shape will be used to power product analysis, dashboards, reports and our product’s console used by our customers
  • Designing, building, implementing, and documenting data models
  • Shipping data pipelines including real-time streaming and batch processing
  • Optimizing data transformation pipelines to increase freshness or reduce computational time/cost
  • Supporting our production SaaS application stack and platform

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • 10+ years of experience with ETL architecture, including ETL standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Commercial experience in Data Engineering, and/or Analytics Engineering, building scalable data warehouses
  • Dimensional Modeling
  • Advanced API & Data (SQL and NoSQL) skills
  • Exposure to Data Engineering tooling: ingesting, testing transformations, lineage, orchestration, publishing data, metric layers
  • Experience implementing at scale real-time stream and batch data pipelines with tight SLOs and complex transformation requirements
  • Fantastic collaboration and communication skills, demonstrated by successful large-scale projects spanning multiple teams
  • Aptitude for product data analysis, dashboarding, and reporting
  • Proficient in data architecture and modeling concepts, able to coach and influence others throughout the organization
  • Be resilient and resourceful in face of ambiguity and thrive on (rather than endure) change
  • Bring critical thought and opinion — and embrace differences and disagreement to get stuff done and move forward
  • To thrive in this role, you need to be dedicated to your craft and committed to constant development
  • You should be an independent thinker who can solve complex problems and handle a bit of chaos without breaking a sweat
