We're bringing on a Director of Marketing Operations & Analytics to bridge the gap between marketing strategy and data-driven execution at WordPress.com. This role will partner closely with our Data Division to ensure marketing decisions are powered by the right insights at the right time. You'll identify strategic measurement needs, translate business questions into analytical frameworks, and drive the implementation of insights across marketing initiatives. Strong business acumen and communication skills are essential, as you'll need to effectively articulate marketing's analytical needs to our Data Division while translating their insights into actionable marketing strategies. This role will also develop the measurement strategy for marketing investments, partnering with our data teams to build models that inform resource allocation and maximize ROI.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Analytics Partnership: Define marketing's measurement needs and collaborate with the Data Division to develop appropriate analytical frameworks and solutions.
- Insights Translation: Transform complex data analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for marketing teams.
- Marketing Operations Excellence: Streamline processes and technology infrastructure to support data-informed marketing initiatives.
- Measurement Strategy: Partner with the Data Division to design and implement comprehensive measurement frameworks for marketing activities.
- Reporting Strategy & Governance: Lead the evolution of marketing reporting from data collection to actionable insights - identifying critical metrics that drive business growth, eliminating vanity metrics, and ensuring reports catalyze decisive action rather than just inform.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Bridge the gap between marketing teams, technology partners, and data teams to drive cohesive, data-informed strategies.
- Technology & Tool Optimization: Evaluate and implement marketing technology solutions that integrate effectively with our data infrastructure.
- Performance Framework: Define KPIs and success metrics that align with business objectives, working with data teams to ensure accurate tracking.
- Resource Optimization: Collaborate with data teams to develop models for marketing spend allocation and ROI assessment.
