What You’ll Do

We are seeking a human resources generalist to join our growing team in APAC, which currently includes approximately 30 employees across five countries. Based out of our new Shanghai office, you will manage employee relations, talent acquisition, and people operations for this region, and collaborate closely with the global People & Culture team on the design and delivery of talent programs. As the first People & Culture hire in APAC, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and bring to life the vision for Authentic in this region.

People & Culture Business Partnering

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, building effective relationships across the team and partnering with stakeholders to deliver solutions.
  • Partner with the global People & Culture team to lead the local delivery of talent programs, including performance management, compensation planning, learning and development, on/offboarding, and employee engagement.
  • Support the development of strategies to attract, develop, retain, and integrate talent to align with overall business goals.
  • Guide and advise managers in fostering a performance-driven culture, coaching them on providing effective feedback and setting goals for their teams.
  • Manage employee relations issues, using sound judgment to resolve concerns while adhering to legal/regulatory compliance and company policies.
  • Develop and update local employment policies, such as employee handbooks, labor contracts, and benefits documents.

Talent Acquisition

  • Lead full lifecycle recruitment for open positions in the APAC region, serving as a talent advisor for hiring managers, sourcing, and interviewing prospective candidates, and managing offers.
  • Implement creative sourcing strategies to engage top talent through multiple local channels.

 

  • Provide an exceptional candidate experience, serving as a subject matter expert to candidates and internal partners alike. Oversee candidate and interview experiences from initial communication through onboarding.
  • Manage campus recruiting and the experience for internship programs, including organizing events and career fairs.
  • Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition team in the US to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to recruitment efforts.

 

HR Operations

  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee data for APAC employees.
  • Process local payroll.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding in our systems.
  • Partner with our third-party provider on immigration cases, as needed.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for employee benefits and compensation concerns.

Must Haves

  • 5-7 years of HR generalist experience, including talent acquisition, operations, and business partnering, in the fashion, entertainment, or startup sectors
  • Experience with local administration of HRIS, payroll, and benefits.
  • Ability to balance strategic and hands-on approaches in your role.
  • Knowledge of local employment law in China and the ability to research requirements for other APAC locations.
  • Proactive and innovative in implementing employee programs that are competitive, drive business results, and enhance our culture.
  • Exceptionally organized and proactive, with demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to unite diverse perspectives towards common goals.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), with experience in Greenhouse Recruiting software being a significant advantage.
