We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to join our team, who will lead the team responsible for design, implementation, and verification of the electrical and electronic systems for existing and new Atom Power products. Safety, quality, reliability, and performance are top priorities for the products that we develop and this position will spearhead technical excellence and people leadership for electronics development ensuring that the products meet high standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a “hands-on” technical leader, establishing a strategic vision for the team aligned with Atom Power’s strategy and product roadmap while implementing progressive steps to build the team and achieve the vision
- Lead a team through a stage-gate New Product Development/New Product Introduction process, delivering rigorously engineering safety-critical electronics from concept through market launch
- Continuously improve the team, focusing on people, process, and tool development
- Work closely with project leadership to enable project success through active engagement on project execution, resource allocation to fill project needs, and coaching/mentoring the engineering team to deliver solutions
- Establish standards for excellence in electrical engineering through definition of design handbooks, best practices, and technical reviews
- Foster growth through individualized coaching and training, setting clear expectations and establishing accountability while providing opportunities for employee development
- Work across the business to support all new product development and sustainment activity
- Focus on robust, manufacturable designs through engineering process tools such as DFMA, DFMEA, and PFMEA
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong proficiency with microcontrollers, analog sensors, filters, mosfets, op-amps, switching regulators, communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN and signal conditioning
- Experience with PCB design, layout, EMC optimization, and design for manufacturing
- Experience with product development for consumer and/or commercial high-volume applications, from concept to market launch
- Experience with safety certification standard compliance such as UL and IEC
- Expertise driving product maturity through a formalized stage-gate process (NPI/NPD)
- Expertise in safety, quality, reliability, and performance of electronic circuit designs
- Strong critical thinking skills and problem solving
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership skills with ability to influence
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Google related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience, .
- 10+ years of experience designing and verifying mixed signal electronics and circuit board design
- 5+ years of management experience with track record of building and leading teams
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with 3-phase power systems and circuit protection devices
- Experience with power electronics and mixed signal designs
- Knowledge of firmware and ability to debug embedded systems
- Experience with RF and wireless communication protocols
