Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee a diverse range of activities including target ID and validation, target prioritization and the development of cell-based assays for small molecule lead optimization and mechanism of action studies. 
  • Manage preclinical oncology programs, directly contributing towards program planning, design of experiments, data interpretation, SAR analysis, and program progression.
  • Design and implement biomarker assays, cellular functional assays, and establish PK/PD efficacy relationships in relevant cancer in vivo models with strong background in various xenograft and translational models.
  • Work collaboratively with Atomic AI’s chemistry, biology, AI/ML teams and CRO partners to advance lead asset programs.
  • Lead projects, providing key insights into experimental design.
  • Interpret, summarize, and present research findings to multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Proactively review literature for latest scientific findings, ideas, and methods/technologies. 

Qualifications 

  • Ph.D. in Cell & Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, or related field with strong expertise in drug discovery and development, with emphasis on oncology programs.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the pharma/biotech industry, with significant experience leading oncology programs through discovery and IND filing.
  • Strong background in novel target identification and progressing nominated targets to drug discovery projects.
  • In-depth understanding in oncology preclinical studies, in vitro and in vivo model identification/development, IND-enabling study planning, and experience in the IND filing process.
  • Experience mentoring individuals or small teams in cancer biology. 

Salary Range: $130,000/year to $160,000/year + equity + benefits
