How You Will Make an Impact:
The role of Conveyor Safety Specialist is imperative to the safety and well-being of Atlas Sand associates. The Safety Specialist Manager will assist with the Safety Mindset using knowledge of OSHA regulations along our Conveyor.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and conducting safety and health training courses Required by OSHA & MSHA - specifically:
- MSHA Part 46 Training for surface mining including 24 Hour New Miner, Site Specific, Newly employed Experienced Miner, 8-hour Annual Refresher and Task Training.
- OSHA Authorized General Industry Trainer OSHA 511
- OSHA Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry 501
- Maintaining a safety program that conforms to both OSHA 1910 CFR and 30 CFR Federal Regulations, in addition to all state and local regulations
- Understanding OSHA/MSHA Record Keeping requirements and filing appropriate reports to OSHA/MSHA
- Investigating all Incidents and assist with investigation analysis, root cause and corrective action
- Surveying all equipment, belts, trucking, signage at load out locations, etc. Conduct risk assessments to ensure ongoing conformance to safety standards
- Conduct regular Safety Audits and inspections to ensure 1910 & 1926 OSHA/30 CFR Metal and Nonmetal regulations are met and maintained for the Safety of our employees
- Assist with contractor safety and conduct regular audits and inspections ensuring safety and compliance
- Familiar with I.H. equipment and conducting regular Noise and Dust Monitoring
- Attend contractor safety meetings as needed and provide safety leadership
- Participate in contractor safety audits.
- Tabulate safety statistics and generate safety reports
- Assist and manage Environmental Responsibilities as needed
- Full working knowledge and the ability to create policy and procedures on the following:
- Machinery and Machine Guarding Standards OSHA 2045
- Respiratory Protection OSHA 2225
- Rigging Standards
- Electrical Standards
- Fall Protection Standards
- Mobile equipment Standards
- Traffic Control
- Trenching, Excavation, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to assume role of Incident Commander at an emergency incident
- Must be able to walk long distances and stand and work for more than 2 hours in tough environmental conditions (high temperature, high humidity, noise, & dust), and withstand heights of up to 200 feet
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel & Power Point)
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, verbally and in writing
- Must be able to travel occasionally
- Based in WTX
- ASP/CSP Preferred
- Candidates with prior OSHA Experience 1910 CFR General Industry, 1926 CFR Construction and MSHA 30 CFR are encouraged to apply
