In this role, atai is looking for a commercial specialist to shape our clinical development plans / strategies as we prepare our assets for launch. This role will leverage your commercial understanding, expertise in the therapeutic landscape, market dynamics, brand positioning, campaign testing, and competitive insights to shape pivotal development programs for pre-launch compounds. The position will focus on activities related to “preparing for launch” and developing a launch playbook for PhII assets and beyond. As atai is pursuing multiple commercialization pathways (out-license post POC, self-commercialization) this role will be responsible for compiling the commercial story for early-stage assets (PhI, PhII) in support of out-licensing in addition to potentially self-commercialized assets. As atai is focusing in on innovate medicine with new MoAs, the ideal candidate will have experience developing launch playbooks for novel therapeutics, preferably in Mental Health Disorders.   

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop brand positioning strategies for early (pre-PoC) and late stage (post-PoC) assets 
  • Translate how potential product TPPs may translate into commercial assumptions (peak share, market adoption, etc.) 
  • Evaluate and develop new investment opportunities from our acquisitions pipeline, including commercial and competitive assessment
  • Work on atai's top priorities and determine how we seize our most significant opportunities and overcome our most serious challenges
  • Structure, launch, and drive your workstreams by developing hypotheses, translating these hypotheses into work plans, conducting analysis including commercial forecasts, financial modeling, market / competitive trends analysis, crafting insights & developing recommendations
  • Prepare presentations and communicate findings to leadership and larger atai team
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align on recommendations, investment and execution needs and put these into action
  • Establish multidisciplinary collaboration and strategic alliances with external parties
  • Creation of revenue forecasts and market differentiation strategies 
  • Competitive overviews informing BD and R&D decision-making

Qualifications: 

  • You have 2-4+ years of working experience in biopharma commercial strategy, including forecasting, launch planning, reimbursement, go-to-market and product strategy 
  • Experience developing revenue forecasts, competitive landscapes and biopharma R&D strategy 
  • Degree from a top-tier university with an excellent academic record in a business or MINT/STEM 
  • Advanced degree(s) (Ph.D., MD, MBA, or Pharm D) is a plus
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • You are capable of handling data from diverse sources in Excel, Tableau, or similar
  • You are passionate about creating spot-on analyses and solid recommendations for the C-Level
  • You have a strong track record in leading cross-functional teams in advancing projects
  • You proactively learn and are curious about scientific knowledge
  • You are highly empathetic with an outstanding ability to work multi-culturally
  • You are willing to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment and to adapt to new situations

  • Experience bringing novel therapeutics to market that require broad HCP awareness campaigns is a plus
