Working closely with our CEO Florian Brand and the atai Executive Leadership Team, the Strategy & Innovation team delivers high-value strategic projects to atai. We play a key role in analyzing, designing, and executing our business & functional strategies and our key areas of innovation. Our business partners include the Executive Leadership Team and Supervisory Board as well as functional leaders across atai. 

As Pricing & Market Access Strategy Manager you will be responsible for leading the price and access strategy for atai’s assets in development and initiatives related to business development. This role will require a strong understanding of US (primary focus) and EU (secondary focus) pricing, access and reimbursement systems, and value & evidence planning. You will work cross-functionally and focus on driving value of atai’s pipeline assets (primarily early stage), to optimize their commercial opportunity. You will collaborate with the business development team, to provide a pricing and market access point of view on asset evaluation and support asset acquisition strategies. atai is focused on innovating novel therapeutics with unique MoAs, and is seeking a collaborative, entrepreneurial and strategic pricing, and reimbursement specialist, preferably with previous experience in Mental Health Disorders. 


  • Lead strategic evaluation of US & European price and access for atai’s early-stage pipeline assets in mental health disorders  
  • Assess the global payer landscape in mental health disorders to understand opportunities & challenges for atai’s enterprise 
  • Collaborate with the medical team to develop and test target product profiles to enhance value 
  • Influence clinical development programs to ensure trial design and endpoint selection will meet payer expectations and effectively demonstrate value to support optimal global price, access and reimbursement
  • Evaluate and develop new investment opportunities from our acquisitions pipeline, including advising on price and ease of market access

  • You have 3-6 years of working experience in pricing and market access in Biopharma, with expertise in the US reimbursement systems, evaluating payer trends, evaluating drivers of market access success 
  • You have life science experience in commercial strategy, forecasting, launch planning, and product strategy 
  • You have expertise in assessing the pricing potential of clinical assets, particularly Ph1 and Ph2 
  • You have a degree from a top-tier university with an excellent academic record in a business or MINT/STEM 
  • You have a strong track record in leading cross-functional teams in advancing projects 

Additional qualifications that make you stand you: 

  • Advanced degree(s) (Ph.D., MD, MBA, or Pharm D)  
  • Experience in Psychiatry and Mental health space reimbursement / commercial strategy 
  • Expertise in the EU reimbursement systems  
  • Experience in developing and managing market access strategies, value dossiers, and traditional/innovative payment models  
  • Working knowledge of health economic modeling
