Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps engineer, you will work with our Flight and Ground software teams to operate, scale, and automate operations for key software and mission control systems. These include command & control systems, telemetry databases, continuous integration systems and other software systems critical to our mission. You will be one of the first hires for this team, autonomously and cross-functionally leading our DevOps efforts as we continue to expand. 

You will improve the state of operations for key software systems at Astranis, with respect to reliability, maintainability as we expand to a fleet of satellites and their supporting services.

This role will contribute to both commercial and US Government programs.

Role:

  • Operate deployments and upgrades for production systems
  • Automate deployment and monitoring for development and production systems
  • Manage IT infrastructure, including servers, supporting software packages, and containers or virtualization


Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in a related discipline (e.g. Information Technology, Computer Science)
  • 5+ years of as a Site Reliability, DevOps or DevSecOps experience
  • 5+ years of experience on Linux
  • Experience with shell programming (e.g. Bash)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties autonomously without much supervision

 


Bonus:

  • Experience with Python or C++
  • Experience with Git or similar source control system
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment
  • Experience with Bazel
All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity, robust benefits, and bonuses.
The Base Salary for this position ranges from $150,000 -$200,000 per year.

Astranis pay ranges are infomed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.
